SNOWMAN WRAP AROUND CARD

We needed some light weight cards to send to Canada this Christmas so I made a few of these the base of which is made from just one piece of textured card.
The windows were cut using a small square punch, the roofs and the snowman was paper pieced together using scraps of paper. (The snowman himself is made from Pearlised card which doesn't show on the photo)
I was able to get two cards from one A4 sheet of card so although they look substantial they only weighed about 9g.   RESULT !   :0)

NANCY WATT'S CHRISTMAS DECO LADIES

I've been quite busy making Christmas cards over the last week (I know, I know, late as usual  - hee hee) most have been posted off now.
These are a few of the cards cards I made using the wonderfully talented Nancy Watt's Christmas Deco Follies designs from MY CRAFT STUDIO.
I love these elegant figures, I usually decoupage them up using foam pads, they make a quick simple card look great.

Hope you like them.

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN BOX

Some time ago we were given some black boxes that I didn't really know what to do with until Halloween came around ... they make excellent candy boxes.

These great stamps are from "The Angel Company" and are called " SPOOKTACULAR"

I had so many boxes to make that I decided to first stamp the images on card, scan them onto my computer and colour them via an art package, it was then just a case of cutting them out and applying them to the boxes.

The front of the box is covered with acetate so I put the witch inside.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to fill them all up without eating all the candy first.

Happy Halloween everyone  :0)

DANCING WITCHES

Hello All
I've been A.W.L for a while as my mojo went walkabout but Halloween seems to be spurring my imagination again and I've made a couple of cards for you to see.

I sketched these little silhouettes of witches  having a bit of a boogie at their local Halloween party and another of a witch totally out of control of her broomstick (obviously had one too many at the party) with her cat hanging on for dear life
I've uploaded them for you to have a play with  (if it's not too late to do so as Halloween is almost here)
They are both on one PDF file called  "WITCHES DANCING" and can be downloaded here

Happy Halloween everone  :0)

Teddies Decoupage

It was Sunday evening I was bored of TV and so sat down to draw my 3 plush toys which I have on a bedroom shelf.
These 3 little fellows have a lot of sentimental value to me and I thought they'd make a nice Birthday Card.

There are 2 PDF files to download one which is called "TEDDY DECOUPAGE"
The other is "TEDDIES"
Hope you have as much fun wuth them  as I did sketching them.

Stampin' Up Bird Card

Both the papers and stamps are from "Stampin' Up".
The papers are from the "Sweet Pea" paper pack.
I'm afraid the cage and sentiment stamps are no longer available.
The little padded bird was stuck on top of the stamped cage and the sentiment  embossed.

La Petite Fée

I sketched this little fairy yesterday, I thought she'd make a nice topper and had a go at a couple of different style cards using her.
On both I highlighted the eyes with clear Sakura and her wings with Sukura glitter, then added a yellow gem to her wand.
The beautiful papers I used are by our wonderful friend and talented designer "Brenda Pinnick"

I've uploaded La Petite Fée for you to have play with too,  there are two sheets with different sized images -

Happy Crafting!

I'M SORRY

I thought it about time I made a "Sorry" card as I'm constantly putting my foot in my mouth.
It might save time and come in handy if I make quite a few of these.  Hee hee
The Orange background paper is called "Sweetpea" and is from "Stampin' Up" I've just inked around the edge.
The boy was cut out and topped using foam sticky pads to make it stand slightly proud of the card.
The image of the little boy (Coloured and Plain) along with the matching striped paper at the bottom of the card are downloadable here as a PDF file (called "SORRY")

PLEASE NOTE - I've also replaced the "RAINY DAZE" PDF file , it should be of slightly better quality now.

LOOK FOR A RAINBOW

I love this rainbow paper from K & Co and had a go at making this 8X5 card this afternoon
I thought this would make a cute card for anyone who is going through a bad patch.
Inside the card the sentiment says "Thinking of you"
If you'd like to download my sketch of the little girl (Clouds and uncoloured version included) please click here to download the "RAINY DAZE 2"  PDF file.

Stamping Up bird punch

Just a couple of cards I made yesterday using Fab's new punch from "STAMPING UP" I used them as soon as he opened the wrapper  :0)
Shading the birds gives them more dimension, I hope you like them.

ELSIE REMEMBERED

I made this card for my wonderful aunt for her birthday next month.
The mounted picture is of "Elsie" my aunt's auntie (my great aunt) who died tragically at the age of  just 28 in the early 1930s.

I used the Free Photo Editing Software "PHOTOSCAPE" which is downloadable from the net to turn the scanned photo into a sketch.
The "lace" is border punched card dabbed over with a cream ink pad and decorated with tiny left over negative peels offs.

The flowers were punched out in two sizes (3 of each) sprayed with water scrunched up tightly,  reopened and left to dry which gives them more dimension.
The ribbon I had matched the background too well so I glued it onto brown card then mounted it with gold mirri card to lift it from the card.

A few Easter Cards

I've been quite busy lately but still managed to make a few Easter cards to send out using "Nobunny like you" stamps from The Angel Company
The "Happy Easter" word stamps are from my friend the extremely talented artist Paula Pascual, which sold out very quickly from QVC UK recently.
Well done Paula.  XX

Dawn Bibby's birthday card.

A rather large card that I made for Dawn Bibby from QVC (UK), we went to see her at Olympia on Friday, she was rather bemused by it  :0)
Inside it has a poem called "Queen of Craft" .
Dawn really is a sweetheart, I admire her a lot.

We also presented Julian Ballantyne with his very own "Bibbyology" certificate kindly signed and dated by Dawn.
He was so pleased with it and showed it off proudly to everyone.
For those of you that don't know Julian he's a long serving presenter on QVC (Uk) a great guy who is always hinting he should get an ology for his rather "over enthusiastic" crafting abilities.
Well now he has one though it is a basic level certificate.

We were pleased at last to meet Amy Shaw, another presenter on QVC (UK) who was so friendly and attentive.

The highlight of the day for us was to meet Marc a fellow crafter who spent the whole afternoon walking round the event with us.

All in all we had a great day and met some wonderful people.

I Hope you like them

ButternutSage Designs Style Card

I've always been a big fan of Donna's card designs at "ButternutSage Designs"
Her style is simplistic, clean and stunning.
I had so much work on recently that I missed out on her recent competition to create a card in her unique style. The lucky winner of which won $100.
I did eventually get round to make a card, but was too late to enter it.

But still, here is my little homage to the lovely Donna, long may she craft.

Fab's Birthday card

10"X8" card, I spritz the whole of the green backing paper with Gold Cosmic Shimmer and matted it with Gold mirror card. inked around the edge and then glued the whole thing to the base card. (I'm afraid the cosmic shimmer and edge inking didn't photo very well)

The topper was made using Dawn Bibby's tree stamp which is much too nice just to be used at Xmas,  available from her shop click here

I embossed the inked image in Gold embossing powder and added some owl stickers (bought at Paperchase)
Then I stamped the swirls on a strip of card and embossed that too in Gold, after adding some Promarker coloured flowers I topped and tailed it with some ribbon, stamped the sentiment and added some gems.

Thank you for looking

Wallpaper Sample Card

My younger brother gave us 2 huge old wallpaper sample books a while back containing beautiful paper and fabric samples.
It's his birthday soon so I thought I'd make him a card from the samples to show I have used them.
The picture I chose only had one full image of the woman's face within the  decorative frame, the other cropped image just had the inner circle (top left of picture)
As I wanted to decoupage the face I cut the face from the frame as the hole would be covered anyway with the circle topper.

I covered the back of the frame with a circle of card so that I could apply sticky foam pads to "lift" it from the card and to give me some support for the decoupaged topper.

After decoupaging the face I added it then applied gems around the edge of the frame and silver peel off  "leftovers" around the edge of the circle.
Because the main image was so detailed I left the rest of the card quite plain.
After inking the the edges of the green fabric I added it and the topper to the slightly textured white card, ran a thin silver peel off along it's right edge and stamped the sentiment and rounded off the edges.

Thinking Of You Card + Matching Envelope

Fab had just downloaded some of the beautiful papers from Claire's site
making-handmade-cards.com
After completing his wonderful Vintage Angel Christmas card for his Christmas Challenge site (see here ) Fab had some papers left over which I thought would make a "tasteful" bereavement card.
It's one of those sort of cards that you hope you'll not need, but is always handy to have in your collection - just in case.

After covering the card in the paper I inked the edge and rounded off the corners.
I then cut away the Christmas message from the round frame then stamped the sentiment on the card corner covering it with the sticky foam backed frame, then applied the gems.
The glittery pale gold organza ribbon matched perfectly but I didn't have enough to go across the card twice so I ended it under the embellishments.
The angel was decoupaged (3 layers) using different coloured off cuts from the scrap sheet then I used a "StarDust"  Sakura pen over the wings.

MCS - Another Walk In Wonderland Samples

Large Fairy Globe Card - using peels offs on the globe base and glitter on the wings of the fairy and butterflies.

Friendship Tag Book & Sleeve - I used the printed tags from the CD and decorated them with stamps, peel offs, flowers etc, all held together with a small ringbinder with various ribbons tied to it.

Acetate Fairy Card (With matching Envelope) -
The fairy silhouette was printed off onto acetate
and wrapped around a 5x7 card with a background and "Happy Birthday" printed on it, the butterflies were printed, cut out, decorated with Sakura and gems and glued to the front of the card.
Large Dancer Card - I first printed the silhouette of the dancer onto white card, then the background was printed onto orange card and attached to a 10x7 base card, I edged around the rim of the card with a black inkpad to define an edge. Simple, but effective.
Thinking Of You - The main part of the card is taken from the "My Craft Studio's "Elements" section all I had to do was print off the doves and add some mirror card and gems.
Large Butterfly Pyramage Card - Again the main part of this card is from the "Elements" section of the CD. I just pyramarged the butterfly added some "metallic domes", printed off and added a few more flowers and added the sentiment. The right of the card is cut slightly shorter than the back and I added a strip of pale lilac material, the edge of which I covered over with a thin gold peel off.

Dome Card -The fairy was printed off and coloured with Coloursoft pencils and Sakura glitter pens. The inside of the card has a printed image and I also printed a larger pair of wings fromn the butterfly for the fairy.
I covered the inside of the front with acetate so that I could then add the flowers and butterfly
Deepest Sympathy Card - I printed off the image slightly larger so that I could "dome" it over a 7x5 card, I traced around the "lacy" part with dimentual pearlized paints and added the doves and sentiment.
Find Yourself A Prince Card - Simply a printed off image with ribbons and sentiment attached.
Silhouette Card - The backgound was printed off and attached to a 5x7 card and decorated with small pink and clear gems, the front was printed onto pink card slight wide than the base card, I then cut out the oval and rectangle for the image and sentiment,  the main image and sentiment were both printed off onto acetate and attacted to the inside front of the pink card,
Because it's slightly wide than the base card you get this lovely "domed" effect.

Well that's it, I hope you liked them.
